One of the most spectacular places to swim or snorkel within a cave is Cyprus Lake Grotto, a gigantic cave hollowed out over thousands of years by the constant pounding of waves from Georgian Bay. The grotto is a short 30-minute hike along the Georgian Bay Trail in this stunning national park on Lake Huron, but getting into it requires climbing down 12 metres over a steep unprotected cliff.

Getting down is one thing; getting up is quite another: people have had to be rescued in order to get out.

The Devil's Punch Bowl is a 37-metre ribbon waterfall on the Niagara Escarpment near Stoney Creek, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. It was built at the conclusion of the last ice age by large melt-water rivers crashing over the Stoney Creek Escarpment. The many different coloured rock layers of the Escarpment may be viewed from the foot of the falls, with such a beautiful display of Ordovician & Silurian stratified rock.

Mazinaw Rock is impressive for its sheer size, but it also has over 260 indigenous pictographs, making it one of the greatest collections of its sort in Canada.

This 15-metre-high waterfall, a smaller version of Niagara Falls, was formed by the erosion of soft Queenston shale beneath hard Manitoulin dolomite on the northern side of Owen Sound. This park has a lot to offer, from its beautiful hiking trails to its covered dining areas, off-leash dog areas, and permit fishing! You can reach the bottom of the gorge by taking the pathways to the left of the parking lot (facing downstream). There isn't a good path, but finding a way down isn't tough.
